Sell photo downloads

Sell digital downloads directly from your portfolio with Plus. Choose the photos, prices, and licenses. ISO100 takes no commission.

Before you start

You need an active Plus plan, a supported seller country and currency, and a Stripe account ready to accept payments. Availability depends on the sales options shown in Studio.

You are the seller. Confirm that you have the rights to sell each photograph and grant the selected license. Digital downloads do not include print fulfillment, a shopping cart, or client proofing.

Choose the download resolution

Upload a finished file at the resolution you intend to sell. A smaller web export limits the purchased JPEG to that resolution too. Check the prepared download preview and dimensions in the photo’s Sales tab before offering it.

Leave permanent watermarks off the uploaded file. ISO100’s optional viewing-image watermarks do not appear in purchased files.

Set up Sales

  1. 01Connect StripeOpen Sales in Studio and connect your Stripe account. Complete the payment and tax setup required for your country and selling currency.
  2. 02Set your defaultsChoose a default price and license, enter the buyer support email that should receive purchase questions, and accept the seller terms. Choose your selling currency carefully; it cannot be freely changed after sales configuration.
  3. 03Accept new salesTurn on Accept new sales when you are ready. This allows eligible, enabled photos to be purchased; it does not make every existing photo available for sale.

Choose which photos to sell

ISO100 prepares the download automatically. Photos awaiting processing, review, or required permissions cannot be sold until those checks are complete. Bulk actions skip ineligible photos.

  1. 01Open a photoIn Photos, open the photo and select Sales. Turn on Sell download, review its price and license, then save.
  2. 02Use bulk actions when neededSelect photos in the library to enable or disable sales together. During upload, use the Sales tab and Apply to all to copy the selected photo’s sales settings to the other selected uploads.
  3. 03Check the published photoWait for the download to be prepared, then publish the portfolio to show the Buy photo link. The photo must be eligible and available in a published gallery. Open its purchase details to check the price, file information, and license.

Enable sales for new uploads

Sales are off by default. You can opt in to enabling sales for new photos in Sales settings. New Studio uploads then inherit the account price and license, with per-photo changes available before upload.

This option does not enroll existing photos. Changing account defaults updates photos that inherit them; explicit per-photo overrides remain in place. Completed purchases keep the file, price, and license accepted at checkout.

Prices, licenses, and fees

ISO100 takes no commission. Stripe processing and applicable tax-service fees apply through your Stripe account. Review your Stripe pricing and tax obligations before accepting sales. Buyer prices include applicable tax.

Choose Personal use, Commercial use, or a custom license in Sales → Licenses. Commercial and custom use may require additional permissions. Buyers accept the full license before payment. Copyright stays with the photographer.

Purchase licenses are separate from the public rights notice on a photo. Changing a license or price does not change an existing purchase. Review both notices to avoid conflicting permissions.

What buyers receive

Buyers receive a high-quality JPEG at the uploaded photo’s full resolution, converted to sRGB. Camera and location metadata are removed; creator and copyright details are included when available. The private original upload is not delivered.

Buyers do not need an ISO100 account. After payment is confirmed, the purchase page provides the download and a confirmation email includes a private return link. Download access lasts 90 days after payment; buyers should save the file before the deadline.

Purchase emails use the photographer’s name, direct replies to the configured buyer support email, and contain no ISO100 logo or branded footer. Email delivery uses an ISO100 sending domain.

The purchase link grants access to its holder. Keep it private. The page is marked not to be indexed by search engines; individual file links expire after five minutes. Reopen the purchase page to obtain a fresh file link during the download window.

Orders, refunds, and pausing sales

Review purchases in Sales → Orders. Manage payments, refunds, and disputes in your Stripe Dashboard. Respond to buyer questions sent to your support address.

A full refund ends future download access. A partial refund retains access, and a dispute suspends it while unresolved. A file link already issued can remain usable for up to five minutes. Required consumer remedies are not limited by these access rules.

Turning off Accept new sales or disabling a photo stops new purchases. Existing purchases retain their download window after unpublishing, replacement, account closure, or a downgrade. Content restrictions can suspend access and flag orders for refund review.

Replacing a photo does not replace files in previous purchases. If a buyer has a download problem, ask for the order reference and contact support without sharing the private purchase link publicly.

Open Studio to make the change.
