Custom domain setup
Plus accounts can use a custom subdomain for a published portfolio by adding the DNS records ISO100 gives you in Studio.
What ISO100 supports
ISO100 custom domains are for public portfolio surfaces. Studio, billing, account settings, sign-in, and account management stay on ISO100-owned domains.
Use a subdomain such as portfolio.example.com, photos.example.com, or www.example.com.
Do not enter example.com as the custom domain. Use www.example.com or another subdomain for ISO100 custom domains.
Connect the domain
- 01Enter the subdomain in StudioOpen Portfolio settings, enter the domain you own, and add it to your portfolio.
- 02Create the DNS recordsAdd the CNAME and TXT verification records shown in Studio wherever DNS is managed for your domain. Copy each record name and value exactly.
- 03Check statusReturn to Studio and refresh the custom domain status after DNS has had time to propagate.
Where to update DNS
Update DNS records at the company that manages DNS for your domain. That might be Cloudflare, GoDaddy, Namecheap, Squarespace, Route 53, or another DNS provider.
ISO100 does not change DNS records for you. Studio shows the exact records to create, then checks whether those records are visible on the public internet.
- The CNAME record points your public portfolio hostname, such as www.example.com or photos.example.com, to ISO100.
- The TXT record proves that you control the domain.
- DNS providers use different labels for the same fields. Name, host, or hostname usually means the record name. Value, target, points to, or content usually means the record value.
- Remove any existing A, AAAA, or CNAME record for the same hostname before adding the ISO100 CNAME.
Status meanings
ISO100 is waiting for the required DNS records to appear.
The domain was found and ISO100 is checking ownership and serving state.
Traffic is routed to the published portfolio.
The domain could not be verified or connected. Check the DNS records and try again.
The domain is paused until the account is eligible for custom domains again.
The domain is no longer serving the portfolio.
Common gotchas
- Do not use an ISO100-owned hostname as a custom domain.
- Remove conflicting DNS records for the same hostname before adding the ISO100 records.
- Keep the ISO100 verification TXT record in place while the domain is connected.
- Only public portfolio pages use the custom domain. Studio and billing links should still point to ISO100.
