Create a post

Open Content in Studio. Choose Add, then Post, or select Blog and choose Add post. Enter a title and use the editor for text, headings, links, lists, and photographs. New posts have Keep as draft turned off. Select it to keep an unfinished post out of the next publish.

Choose Add image to select a public, non-sensitive library photo. Draft, unlisted, blocked, and restricted photos are excluded. Preview checks your current edits; Save changes saves the entry without changing the live site.

Choose a thumbnail

Every published post needs content and an available thumbnail. In Post settings, use the first photo in the post automatically or choose another eligible library photo. A post without an inline photograph can use a separately selected thumbnail.

The thumbnail represents the post in the blog grid. Choosing one does not insert a cover image into the article. Add any photographs you want readers to see inside the post with Add image.

Set dates and post order

Edit Post date in Post settings. Newer dates appear first in the blog. In Blog settings, Show post dates controls whether readers see the dates; hiding dates does not change the order.

A future date does not schedule publication. A ready post is included when you publish, even if its date is in the future.

Choose the blog appearance

Open Content → Blog and select Appearance. Choose a preset or use Customize. Check Desktop and Mobile before selecting Save changes. Cancel restores the appearance settings from when you opened the editor.

The optional cover photo appears on the blog index only. Choose Full image, Split, Image above, Text cover, or Title only. Use Adjust focal point to control the crop. Text layouts retain the selected photo so you can switch back later. Blog covers use a short height and grow when text needs more room.

Cover controls set the title font, size, weight, position, color, and contrast. Content heading controls post titles and subheadings. Page controls the background and tone for the index and posts. Blog settings are independent of Portfolio settings; body text stays sans serif.

Set Maximum columns to 1, 2, or 3; fewer columns fit on smaller screens. Choose landscape, square, or portrait thumbnails, then adjust spacing and content width. The blog shows 12 posts per page, with links to older pages.

Understand preview samples

An empty blog displays labeled sample posts in the appearance preview. Image-cover presets use a sample photo until you choose one. Sample posts and photos are never published. Without a real cover photo, the published blog uses its text heading.

Use Page top or Posts to move around the preview. Saved posts appear with your current appearance settings, so save an edited post before checking it there.

Publish posts

Clear Keep as draft on each ready post and save it. In Blog settings, leave Show on site enabled. Publish your portfolio to update the live blog and all other saved portfolio changes. Saving alone does not publish.

The blog menu link appears once a post is published. Draft posts stay out of the live site and sitemap. Marking an existing post as draft removes it only after you publish again.

Hide or restore the blog

Turn off Show on site in Content → Blog, save, and publish. This removes the blog index, its menu link, and all posts from the published site and sitemap. Your posts and appearance settings remain in Studio.

Enable Show on site, save, and publish to restore eligible posts. Publication requirements apply again when the blog is enabled. Hiding the blog is not password protection; visitors may retain previously downloaded content.

Manage addresses and convert posts

A saved post keeps its address when you change its title or convert it to a page. Editing the address itself breaks old links after publishing. Open page and Copy URL use the recorded published address when available.

For a saved post, choose Content options → Convert to page. It leaves the blog on the next publish while preserving its address, content, date, and thumbnail choice. Choose Navigation → Unlisted if you want a public page without a menu link. Pages and posts have no count limit. Menu pages share the 10-item public navigation limit; unlisted pages do not use menu slots.

Blog posts do not show contact forms. Use a custom page for content that needs a form. Delete removes an entry from the working portfolio after confirmation; publish to remove its live version.

Blog limits

Plus has no page or post count limit. The public menu supports up to 10 items; individual posts are listed within Blog rather than taking separate menu slots. The blog does not include comments, tags, RSS, or scheduled publication. Use custom pages for ongoing information such as services and posts for dated stories or project updates.

Open Studio to make the change.
